Hi everyone,

I am wondering if anyone would have tips on how to choose a midwife.
I just went to my GP who gave me a list of "verloskundige praktijk". I called one and made an appointment, but what if I don't like her...
What questions should I ask her? What I am supposed to expect from her?
Thanks for your wise answers,

Cheers
Ninouke

For anyone else who's wondering, it's not really rocket science. Just visit them, ask them what their views are on birth, delivery, etc. and if it doesn't feel like a good match, go see someone else.
I switched midwives in my 25th week because she was too conservative for me.
Oddly enough, my BP (which worried the initial midwife) went down after I switched and stayed normal for the remainder of the pregnancy, so it was obvious to me that she was not a good match.
I was very happy I switched. You want to make sure you are being heard. It's YOUR pregnancy after all and they are there to help you, so stay empowered and don't get pushed around.
