Hi all, I am a 26 year old Irish guy moving to Amsterdam, looking for a room near the centre. Ideal areas are probably de pijp and jordaan, but anywhere around the centre i would be interested in. Also looking for friends as I don't know anybody here! Pretty sporty guy like going to the gym, soccer, golf etc. and enjoy partying a lot as well! Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Hey again, found a room now, so now just have to sort out the friends issue! Is there a gay expat group that meet up? Or would anyone be interested in one if it was set up?

Hi Rono,
If you're a pool player, think about visiting the Spijkerbar on Kerkstraat. I arrived in Amsterdam when I was about your age, and ended up meeting some really good people there. I haven't been there for a while, for my own reasons, but understand that it's still pretty much the same crowd. Try weekends, from about 5pm. Good luck! |
