Whew! Obama stomped Hillary in all three Democratic contests yesterday, beating Clinton by more than 2-1 in Washington state and Nebraska, and by 21 points in Louisiana. According to Associated Press delegate count projections, the candidates are within spittin' distance of each other: Clinton with 1095, Obama with 1070. This is nerve-wracking. In a good way.

I also saw some interesting press coverage - the obama supports were chanting:

YES WE CAN....

The Hillary support were chanting -HIL-LAR-Y

Which just goes to show me that what Obama has started is a movement... No matter what happens I hope this movement for change will not stop!

I also read an article about voters in Virginia - apparently they can vote either republican or democrat in the primaries - because McCain seems to be a shoe in in Virginia, a lot of republicans are going to vote for Hillary in the primaries because they consider her easiest for McCain to beat. If I remembered the numbers correctly in a race between Obama and McCain - Obama has a 6 point lead....

So all I have to say is......

YES WE CAN!

IF the nomination goes to Hilary because of the Super delegates (Who are SOLIDLY in her corner Im sad to say) I will be 5 kinds of pissed off!

Obama is STOMPING Hilary with a lead of 62 REAL delegates, but Clinton has 224 to his 135 super delegates.
IF it's the super delegates that select Hilary in the end, I fear for our party and any semblance of REAL democracy in our party, and our country.

I swear it FEEL like they are just TRYING to make up reasons for me to be MORE ashamed to be an American every day!

* and company is bad enough, it's even worse with the spineless congress that we had, and everything else!

I hope and pray for a democratic sweep, even more that the Dems (new) that are elected are very liberal!
For the record I consider myself a REAL centrist, meaning a bit of each to keep in the stable middle is necessary.
Going far far far far left would ONLY bring us BACK to the MIDDLE, not the USSR like the RW nutters would have us believe.
Strong unions, and a guarantee of health care for ANYONE working, is what MADE the 50's and 60's the strong economy it was!

oh well it's a silly little dream I have.

It’s over.

Obama got to the far left faster than Hillary did. He out-organized her, out-fundraised her, out-speechified her, out-hustled her, out-dressed her, and out-presidentialed her. He outbid Hillary for votes, one promised government check at a time. His 17-point margin of victory in Wisconsin was incredible. It says he can’t be stopped.

Obama-man is the Gorbachev that America needs. He'll let things fall apart nice and easy like. Unlike that PTSD nutball McCain.

Hello everyone! im new here, actually this is my 1st post. rolleyes.gif

According to the news, Obama won yesterday the 11th streak victory on the primaries, this time the voters were the democrats living abroad. He got 65,7% of the votes, while Clinton had 32,6%. In stake were only 7 delegates, however it shows that Obama is on the road to the White House... Obama has now 1351 delegates and Clinton 1262. Texas is just in a coupple of weeks...

I trully hope he means what he says on his great speeches, because if he does, America will finally have a president that they can be proud of. I believe him. There's something about this guy. Or he is a great man or he's the world's fake. I rather believe in the first.

Obama is where he is because of Republican money, they do not want Hilery in there, they know she will go after Bush and Cheny. also I think a few of his advisers are also Republicans. But dont count Hilery out yet. There are many who are not ready for a black man yet. what we need is experiance in the White House in these stressed times. He is going to have a hard enough time finding his way around the White House, let along deal with all the problems that have to be addressed. McCain may well slide right in also, he may be old but there is a big chunk of voters you have not heard from till election day. Also what you have is Republicans voting in his corner in these states, dont you find it a little odd how great the turn out has been for him?

Republicans want Hillary. They think they can beat her because she has high negative ratings with the people.

Bias. Racism. He will be able to deal with the problems just as well as any other president has.

McCain has two problems. He is pro-war ("100 more years") and the majority of the people are not. And he, by his own admission, knows nothing about economics in a country where the people feel the #1 problem is the economy.

So Obama wins. By default if nothing else.

Obama will go after Bush and Cheney too. And polls show Hillary being far less credible against McCain than Obama is.

And Hillary has no more real world experience than Obama, because being First Lady is not a position of power. Unless of course I'm to believe she was the real power behind the throne of Bill, which is both ridiculous and against the Constitution.

As far as McCain's 'great turnout' it has been consistently far less than that of people voting for Obama.

At some point you just have to lose the pessimism. Talking to myself here.

Obama is not super-human, but he is human, and every now and then when the stars line up, and the people are properly focused and prepared, a human comes along and does super-human things. Obama talks about change. If everyone on the planet who desires change in the U.S. AND the world rallies behind Obama and projects onto him their highest expectations, then Obama may have no choice but to deliver. In the end, it may not matter really who the person is, but what our expectations are. The person may just be a symbol, a lightning rod to receive a certain energy.

I look at Obama and I see someone who is OPEN to receiving that energy. And he looks like someone who can handle it too.

The whole world will be watching this election.

"Last night I stood at your doorstep
Trying to figure out what went wrong
You just slipped something into my palm and you were gone

I could smell the same deep green of summer
Above me the same night sky was glowin'
In the distance I could see the town where I was born

It's gonna be a long walk home..."
