Hello

I am moving to Utrecht very soon and I will be in the market for a new local, so can anyone give me a lowdown on the Irish pubs there? Looking for good craic with great staff, all the usual sports on the TV and a good local feel to it.

Let me know
Cheers

there are only 2 Irish pubs in Utrecht:

O'Connell's Janstraat - (near the Dom tower in the centre of town). Big bar with multi-tv screens, home of the expat student population as well as the international workers population. Big minus point in my opinion is the lack of professional staff that can ruin your night, they just don't seem to give a damn (which is the same as most bars in Holland anyway)

O'Leary's Adelaarstraat (opposite the windmill). Smaller family-run pub just outside the centre, more convivial atmosphere and more Irish expats go there than O'Connell's.

they both have Sky so you just need to try them both and see what you prefer.
