I'm interested in possibly living in eastern Belgium (Oostkanten - the German area.) I have the following questions, that hopefully someone will know something about.
I have a lot of skills, but I am not a contractor per se (I have built one house so far). However, I would be interested in building my own house, and then moving on to build additional houses and/or apartments. In general, can a person build their own house in Belgium? Are there stage-based inspections like there are here in the states? Does one have to hire licensed tradespeople for certain things, such as plumbing, electricity, gas, or would I have the possibility of doing that myself as well?
